What Can I Expect During a FaceTite Procedure and Recovery?

The world of anti-aging is more exciting than ever as we make significant strides with minimally and non-invasive procedures that can dial back the years, including our FaceTite® technology.

As you explore your options, Dr. Manuel Lopez, and the rest of the experienced team here at Advanced Aesthetics Lopez Plastic Surgery thought it would be helpful to focus on FaceTite in this month’s blog post. Dr. Lopez is our FaceTite expert.

Here’s a look at what happens during a FaceTite procedure and what you can expect in terms of recovery.

Receiving your FaceTite procedure

There’s not much you need to do to prepare for your FaceTite procedure, but we do ask that you avoid putting on any makeup or heavy creams.

When you arrive, we’ll give you some medication to relax you and administer an anesthetic for your comfort before we get started. Once you’re ready, we make a very small incision through which we thread the FaceTite cannula. The thin tube emits radiofrequency energy, which flows to a corresponding electrode that glides across the surface of your skin in lockstep with the internal cannula.

Depending upon your treatment goals, we’ll likely make several tiny incisions to pass the cannula through.

One aspect of the FaceTite treatment is a bit like liposuction, except we’re using radiofrequency (RF) energy to liquify your fat first, making it easier for us to suction out. That advanced process also allows us to reduce post-operative pain, swelling, and bruising.

At the same time as we address excess fatty tissue in your treatment area, the RF energy causes external collagen contraction.

Rest assured, our FaceTite technology is highly advanced and intuitive and adjusts the temperature of the energy based on the tissue impedance we encounter in your skin. That allows us to deliver effective and uniform results when it comes to contouring your face and neck.

In most cases, we complete the procedure in an hour or two, and you’re free to return home afterward. Please note that you may want someone else to drive you as we do use an anesthetic.

Recovering from your FaceTite procedure

One of the biggest advantages of our FaceTite system is that, unlike a facelift procedure, there’s very little downtime afterward. We advise you to take it easy on the day of your procedure and the day afterward, as you might experience some discomfort, which is easily remedied with ice packs and over-the-counter medications.

We also supply you with a compression garment, which you should wear according to our instructions for a day or two.

If you’re worried about getting back to work, you’ll be pleased to know that one study on radiofrequency assisted liposuction found that most people were back to work in two days.

You’ll notice both immediate and gradual results. The recontouring that we do in your lower face and neck will be evident after your FaceTite procedure, and your results will continue to improve over the next 3-6 months as collagen rebuilds the structural support in your skin from below.

If you have more questions about what to expect with our FaceTite procedure, contact one of our Texas locations in Stone Oak in San Antonio and Boerne to schedule an appointment.
